Load Data Faster Using TABLOCK w/ Haripriya Naidu

Are you looking to load your data faster into SQL Server tables? Then you should try inserting data in parallel and minimizing logging.

In this fully demo-based session, I’ll show how to speed up data loading using TABLOCK. I’ll show how data load performs across different environments, and different recovery models. This will also help speed up loading staging data into temp tables in stored procedures.

By the end of this session, you will have a better understanding of when and how to use the hint to load data faster, both on regular tables and temp tables, and also when not to use the hint.

Haripriya Naidu has been working as a SQL Server Database Administrator for 11 years in Boston, MA. Very passionate about databases and enjoys diving into SQL Server engine internals and optimizing performance.
