From Forest to Fashion - a Natural Dye Workshop with the Burrillville Land Trust

The Burrillville Land Trust is hosting a workshop to dye fabrics with colors extracted from plants. This highly immersive experience includes foraging in the woods with expert guides, yoga, delicious lunch, and lots of dye experiments both days. Our expert guides include Hope Leeson and Dylan Spears. Read about last year's event here.

This is a two day event. Each day is unique. Participants are asked to attend both days. The price for both days is $150 per person.

After the workshop, participants are encouraged to join us for a free community sewing day (Sept. 30) and a fun, casual fashion show (Oct. 14) to share and celebrate our creations. No sewing experience necessary!

• Sept. 9 (10am - 4pm): FORAGING AND DYEING DAY ONE (Burrillville)
• Sept. 10 (10am - 4pm): FORAGING AND DYEING DAY TWO (Burrillville)
• Sept. 30 (10am - 1pm): SEWING CIRCLE (Farm Fresh RI - 10 Sims Avenue - Providence)
• Oct. 14 (10am - 1pm): FASHION SHOW (Farm Fresh RI - 10 Sims Avenue - Providence)

Must send check or Venmo $150 to the Burrillville Land Trust to reserve and secure spot. The registration fee covers lunch and snacks both workshop days, materials, and expert instructors. Please reach out to burrillvillelandtrustfriends@gmail.com with any questions.

What to bring: A smile, a chair, a pen or two, a water bottle, a hat, your own set of rubber gloves, an apron and mask, a phone and/or camera, good hiking shoes and comfortable shoes to change as we will take a walk on both days, stories to share, gloves and hand clippers, a towel or small rag, a small tote bag to carry supplies.
