Fungal Foray with Scituate Land Trust & Conservation Commission
Details
Trott-Perry Preserve Foray
THIS Sunday, August 9 | 10:00 AM–12:00 PM | Scituate
The Scituate Land Trust is hosting the Rhode Island Mycological Society at Trott/Perry Preserve, a protected property along the North Branch Pawtuxet River with 1.1 miles of connected trails and the Hans Bergey Grove. We will explore the preserve while looking for fungi.
We will begin with a short introduction, then divide into smaller groups with walk leaders. Together, we will search different habitats, photograph fungi where they are growing, and collect selected specimens for study.
After the walk, we will gather at the tables to sort our finds, compare features, and work through identifications together.
No expertise is required. This is a study-focused foray. Fungi collected during the event are for identification and documentation only, not for eating or personal use.
Please, leave pets at home. Yes, even the well behaved- we want to focus on the mushrooms.
