As a condition of participation in any hiking or outdoor activity organized by Little Rhody Hiking Club (the “Group”), I, the participant, agree to the following:
1. Assumption of Risk
I acknowledge that hiking and other outdoor activities carry inherent risks, including but not limited to slips and falls, encounters with wildlife, adverse weather conditions, dehydration, and other potential hazards. I voluntarily assume all such risks associated with my participation, whether known or unknown.
2. Release and Waiver
I hereby release, waive, and discharge the Group, its organizers, hosts, volunteers, and associated members from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes of action arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury (including death) that may be sustained by me or my property while participating in any Group activity.
3. Personal Responsibility
I certify that I am physically fit and capable of participating in Group activities. I understand it is my responsibility to bring appropriate gear, clothing, food, and water, and to assess whether an event is suitable for my skill and fitness level.
4. Medical Treatment
In the event of an injury or emergency, I consent to receive medical treatment deemed advisable. I understand that I am responsible for any medical expenses incurred as a result.
5. Meetup.com Disclaimer
I understand that the Group is organized through Meetup.com and that Meetup.com is not affiliated with or responsible for the activities or actions of the Group or its members.
6. Photography and Media
I understand that photos or videos may be taken during events. I grant permission to use these for promotional purposes unless I specifically request otherwise.
7. Legal Age and Binding Agreement
I confirm that I am 18 years of age or older and legally competent to sign this waiver. This agreement is binding upon me and my heirs, assigns, and legal representatives.
