Please join me on one of my favorite hikes.

Distance: 6-7
Speed. 2.5mph
Terrain: Rugged, roots and some. inclines

We'll be doing more of the strenuous exercise than wildlife watching.
Please be prepared for the hike with good hiking boots, sunscreen,extra water for hydration and protection from ticks.
The terrain is hilly and rugged in places and the pace will be steady and a little Quicker than what you might be used to. There will be stops along the way as necessary.

RSVP for the hike only if you are confident, you can safely complete it. You must not have medical issues that would inhibit your ability to safely participate, If you have any doubts consult your physician. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to: Stay with the group, Stay on the trail, Speak up early if you are having trouble,

if you would like more mileage. Maxwell Mays is just a couple minute drive down the street for 3 or 4 more miles

Visitors to Parker Woodland Wildlife Refuge find an extensive trail system through diverse terrain that can take most of a day to fully explore. Revolutionary War-era carriage roads and historic rock cairns take hikers back in time. Trails are hilly, interspersed with several calm, flowing streams. The 860 acre property includes some areas of rocky landscape that are perfect for strenuous exercise as well as wildlife observation.
