RI Foodie Friends: 30s Night @ Aguardente!

Note: unlike most of our MeetUp RI Foodie Friends dinners, this event is restricted to diners in their 30s. The next dinner will have no such age restrictions.

By request, our second MeetUp Dinner in July will be 30s Night at Aguardente!

For the uninitiated: Aguardente is a fabulous culinary enclave in Providence's Fox Point neighborhood, blending Portuguese, Azorean, and Guatemalan (plus a few more) culinary influences with gorgeous artwork.

As the three founders put it:

"Over the years I’ve learned that it’s easy to forget and neglect our cultures of origin and get lost in the busyness of the American hustle. At Aguardente, we seek to reclaim the beauty of home and share it with you in a simple but heartfelt expression; through authentic food, traditional spirits, and passionate art.

I think I can speak for everyone, but especially those of us in our thirties, that the busyness of the American hustle is alive and well, and the gift of belonging and shared experiences is both missed and far too easily displaced.

If you agree (or, frankly, if you're in your thirties and anticipate being hungry on Wednesday, July 16th) join us for dinner at 6PM at Aguardente out on the patio.

Rain date is Thursday, July 17th at the same time.

If it rains both days, it's proof we're on to something good and The Universe™ is conspiring to thwart us. In that case we shall reconvene at a later date.

My hope is that you'll take the opportunity to share a bit about yourself, learn about your fellow foodies, and bond over a common experience.

Guests are welcome but should be disclosed when you RSVP, as there is only guaranteed seating for up to 8 of us. If you're on the waitlist, don't fret. It's possible a spot may open up, and if not, we'll have other opportunities to break bread together soon.

Also: please RSVP accurately, and update your status if your plans change. We'd love to offer your seat to someone on the waitlist if you can't make it (we'll catch you next time); if not, I'm sure the restaurant would welcome the opportunity to serve other guests during their busy season.
