This discussion sheds light on the methodology employed by Alpha Genesis Labs, drawing insights from software startup principles and implementing agile software development methods. A collaborative initiative with Trinity Basin Preparatory serves as a case study, illustrating how a pragmatic reporting solution has proven its efficacy in addressing the real-world challenges faced by educational institutions.
School administrators and teachers are drowning in a sea of data, applications and systems that contain many pieces of the puzzle that they need to do their job well.
Alpha Genesis Labs helps schools cut through the maze, by meeting schools where they are. They design practical, best-in-class reports and dashboards that leverage the systems and technology stacks, that schools already own, as a front end to a data warehouse built to pull data from student information systems, assessment systems and other data sources.
Florence Lowe is passionate about technology and is on a mission to spread awareness and access to clean data and good software that is simple and easy to use. She founded Alpha Genesis Labs to help drive this mission, and schools to improve their data, application usage and to derive business intelligence out of their own data to help improve student outcomes. Prior to that, she was COO at Synerzip, an agile software development company which sold to a PE firm in 2020. She has over 20 years experience in technology, finance, and investing, starting her career at IBM Global Services in Bangalore, India and working at other companies like American Airlines, UBS Warburg, Capital One, AlixPartners, Hudson Advisors/Lone Star Funds, EZLynx (sold to Applied Systems), and iSight Partners (sold to FireEye).
Florence has an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, a Masters in Computer Applications from Jawaharlal Nehru University and a BA (Hons) in Mathematics from the University of Delhi. She is also on the board of Broadway Dallas and on the Research and Innovation Council for the Office of Innovation & Research at the University of Texas in Dallas.
