The Book of Esther

In the Hebrew Bible, the book of Esther stands out as an interesting book. It reads as a historical narrative during the peak of the Persian empire but it uncovers the gracious providence and sovereignty of God. Esther becomes Queen through mysterious channels and later foils a plan that poises to topple her people: the Jews. Someone is working to keep the Jews alive in foreign lands and that is clearly the God of Abraham who intervenes and works in order that His promises might continue to unfold.
