Hold My Beer: I Do MCP Now

Details
By day, he’s a Principal Data Scientist. By night, he straps himself into an aluminum contraption with more wires than a suspicious Eastern European nightclub and hurtles through laser-scanned racetracks against strangers on the internet. What could possibly go wrong? In this talk, you’ll hear how he stumbled into MCP (don’t Google it at work), convinced himself that race engineers should really be AI agents, and ended up building a digital sidekick that cheers him on, yells at him, and sometimes even helps him not crash. Come for the AI insights, stay for the questionable life choices.
About our speaker:
Dustin Landers is a Principal Data Scientist at Markel, a property & casualty insurer headquartered in Glen Allen, VA. He’s been doing “data science” since before it was cool - or even called that - and has held roles ranging from statistical programmer for a plant geneticist to general data janitor for anyone with a messy dataset. After a stint in the startup world that can best be described as “educational,” he found himself back in insurance, where things are at least consistently weird. Somewhere along the way, he had a midlife crisis and decided that racing virtual cars against internet strangers was the most sensible hobby. This talk is the inevitable mash-up of data science, sim racing, and not nearly enough free time.
