What we’re about
Who We Are
We're a group of laid back and genuine people that get together for meditation, movies, book clubs, thoughtful discussions, and socializing.
We don't charge for membership, and most of our meetings are free. When we do ask for contributions, they are only to cover our costs.
Special thanks to The Innerwork Center for providing us meeting space on many Sunday mornings!

Let's practice together right in the middle of the week, right in the middle of the day. This is a shorter meditation group meeting - meant to be taken during a mid-week lunch break.

Meditative Inquiry? What's that?
In addition to facilitating the Sunday morning groups here, I've also been practicing with, and facilitating meetings with the Ekoji Meditative Inquiry group, which has almost exactly the same format and intention as our Meetup group here. So I'm excited to invite both groups to come to meet and practice together here on Zoom on Wednesdays at noon.
What kind of meditation will we be doing?
Starting at 12:20 we will sit together in silence for 25 minutes. The main thing is that we try to remain present during our meditation, and when our attention wanders, we simply, kindly, gently return to our breath, or any other meditative touchpoint you have chosen for yourself. While meditating, some people prefer to turn off their video, and that's perfectly fine.
After meditation, we open up for discussion, which can be about the meditation we just did, experiences during the week, our meditation practices, or anything that comes up that's related to practice or waking up in our lives. It's not unusual for there to be long pauses between speaking, where we just reflect on what was just said or are open to hear the next voice, and sometimes that voice is our own. We will wrap up the discussion around 1:15.
What if I've never meditated before?
Many people have started in groups like this, so you'll be in good company.
What type of people will I be meditating with?
Our group is very laid-back and open minded. We recognize that everyone is on their own individual path, so come as you are and you'll be welcomed.
Do I have to sit still for 25 minutes?
No. If you get uncomfortable, shift your position. You can choose to meditate however it works best for you as long as you respect those around you. You can turn off your camera during meditation if you want to.
