New to meditation, or looking to practice with others? Join us for a relaxed, welcoming group meditation—beginners and experienced meditators alike are welcome.

Meeting at Maymont: The weather looks nice for sitting outside in the shade: gradually warming temperatures from the mid-70s to low 80s, with clear to mostly sunny skies.

Bring something to sit on in the grass, like a ground cover and meditation cushion, or a portable chair. UV index will get up to 5 so consider sunscreen.

You can park for free at the 1700 Hampton Street parking lot. Walk through the entrance gate, then turn right off of the path as soon as you can. We will be near the big tulip poplar tree.

Timing: Please arrive by 10:30 a.m. We begin meditating at approximately 10:35. If you arrive late, simply enter quietly and take a seat. We finish discussion around 12:30 p.m.

We typically sit in silence for 25 minutes, followed by an open, informal discussion about meditation, practice, and everyday life. If you are new, let us know—we are happy to answer questions or offer a guided meditation.

Come as you are. Our group is laid-back, open-minded, and respectful of each person’s individual path.

Questions: If you’re using Meetup with a free account and see Meetup+ pop‑ups or can’t message the host, that’s okay—just follow these directions and come to the spot at the listed time. For any questions before the event, please post in the event comments.
