161st Anniversary of the Battle of Cold Harbor

On Saturday, June 7 and Sunday, June 8, Richmond National Battlefield Park invites the public to experience the 161st Anniversary of the Battle of Cold Harbor, site of the 1864 battle between the United States and Confederate armies. This year’s event features living history demonstrations, including a recreation of Ulysses S. Grant’s encampment, guided ranger- led programs and family friendly hands-on activities for all ages. Visitors to this free event should begin at the Cold Harbor Battlefield Visitor Center, 5515 Anderson Wright Drive, Mechanicsville, VA, 23111.
The hours are 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday. I am planning to attend on Saturday, but feel free to attend either day.
On Saturday at 2 pm. General Grant will greet visitors and give a special presentation. He will share his strategy and thoughts on the battle.
