161st Anniversary of the Battle of Cold Harbor

Details

On Saturday, June 7 and Sunday, June 8, Richmond National Battlefield Park invites the public to experience the 161st Anniversary of the Battle of Cold Harbor, site of the 1864 battle between the United States and Confederate armies. This year’s event features living history demonstrations, including a recreation of Ulysses S. Grant’s encampment, guided ranger- led programs and family friendly hands-on activities for all ages. Visitors to this free event should begin at the Cold Harbor Battlefield Visitor Center, 5515 Anderson Wright Drive, Mechanicsville, VA, 23111.

The hours are 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday. I am planning to attend on Saturday, but feel free to attend either day.

I decided to create an additional event for Sunday. The program on Sunday will be different than the one on Saturday. On Sunday at 10:30 am visit the Confederate Camp for the "Drafted Into the Army" program and learn about the experiences of new recruits.
