Central Beach Sunset Hike
Details
Time 7pm CT, 8pm ET
We'll start with a 10-15 minute hike through the woods and down to the beach. The trail ends on a dramatic sand cliff overlooking the beach.
Then we'll walk east down the beach toward Mt. Baldy and Michigan City, until the sunset starts to get good. Then we will turn around and walk towards the sunset back to our start. We'll probably finish in the dusk.
Total distance will probably be between 1.5 and 2 miles.
You might want to bring a flashlight, but the pale sand makes a good path.
Difficulty
This is a medium-low difficulty hike, there's one short steep park, but it is mostly walking on the beach . Though if you are just up for an easier experience, you can just stop and hang out on the beach, or turn around at any point-- you can't get lost.
Starting Location
We'll gather by the stairs at the end of the parking lot.
One mile north of the intersection of Central Avenue and U.S. Highway 12 in the Town of Pines.
