Pitch Card Game Night at Treehouse Brewery, South Deerfield

IMPORTANT VENUE CHANGE! At least for this week, we are moving our venue to Treehouse Brewing Company in South Deerfield, where they have plenty of long tables both indoors and outdoors. If you have not been there, Treehouse is the best craft brewery in the United States! If the weather is suitable, we will play outdoors, where dogs are welcome; otherwise, we will play indoors. The days are getting shorter, so we will get started at 6:00 o'clock instead of 6:30. I hope that the new location does not inconvenience any of our regular players who are from Easthampton or nearby towns.

Note: If we have 8 or fewer players, we will play as partners on one table; however, if we get 10 or more players, we will play as partners at TWO TABLES, with teams of either 4, 6 or 8 players at each table. We generally play 3 games, where the teams switch if we are playing at two tables, although there have been nights where we have been able to fit in 4 or even 5 games.

You do not need to be an expert to play, since your partners will support you if you are still learning, but you should have played before and be at least familiar with the basic rules of the game. Winning strategy seems to come with greater experience. The play can typically get pretty competitive and somewhat boisterous, but you do NOT need to be a highly experienced player to participate. If you do not know how to play, you are welcome to sit in and watch us, ask questions, and learn.

For our games, we will play the partners version, with a winning score of 15. The game can also be played “cutthroat”, where single players compete against any number of opponents.

In addition to a wide selection of craft beers, there are also craft cocktails available and some really good pizza.
