I am trying to determine who is interested in learning to play Mahjong so I can organize a larger activity/event. But there was no way to reach all members of our group without creating an activity; aka there is no discussion board only option. So for the most part, this activity on the 4th is already closed unless I can find another teacher.

If you are interested, please rsvp so you will be added to the waitlist and I will have an idea as to how many people would be interested if I can find additional teachers to get a game going once a week or so.

Currently I have one who is willing to teach others. With Mahjong being a 4 player game I will be limited until more people learn or there are others willing to teach. Do you know the game well? Would you willing to assist in teaching others the game? Do you have a Mahjong set that you can bring with you? Send me a message or comment in this event chat.

Also, I've limited the number of attendees based on one teacher to 4 learning the game. If you already know the game well or are willing to teach please tell me so I can open more seats.

"About Mahjong

Mahjong is an ancient game designed to test your mind, seeing how well you can concentrate under pressure.

The History of Mahjong

Mahjong has its roots in the Qing Dynasty of China!

Traditionally, mahjong was played with 144 mahjong tiles and four players. The goal of the game was to draw and discard tiles until one player assembled a winning hand of four melds, or sets of three, and one pair. Throughout the 20th century, mahjong began to spread to different cultures around the world, and variants of the classic game began to appear.

In Japan and South Korea, for example, the same game was played with three players instead of four. In Western cultures, one popular variant is mahjong solitaire – a matching game that uses the same traditional mahjong tiles with Chinese symbols and characters on them, just as used in this online version of the game."
