Evolution Gaming - Event Sourcing using the Kafka-Journal

Riga Scala Community is happy to announce the first open Scala event organised by Evolution Gaming.

It will take place at 18:00 - 20:00, on the 30th January, 2019, at Teikums, Jaunā Teika, Ausmas ēka, Gustava Zemgala 78, Rīga.

Event Sourcing is a pattern which captures state changes of the application as a sequence of events, thus state changes are atomic & replayable. Such event journals can scale well & provide accurate audit logging & easy temporal queries.

Akka Persistence ( https://doc.akka.io/docs/akka/2.5/persistence.html ) is an Event Sourcing implementation within the Akka ecosystem.

Kafka-Journal ( https://github.com/evolution-gaming/kafka-journal ) is a hybrid Kafka & Cassandra-based event sourcing backend developed & used at Evolution Gaming, providing both fast querying and streaming capabilities.
