On Thursday, April 30, this very interactive meetup will explore the role of moral codes in creating and maintaining human groups and societies. Jonathan Haidt will outline the basic principles, and then we'll get to the fun part:

We'll look at a number of case studies that raise sensitive moral issues and see how our group responds. We'll even do some Trolley cases! How will we balance the rights of individuals against the greater good? What moral principles will be most important to our group? Where will we fit on the individualism - communitarian spectrum? The liberal - conservative spectrum? How will we define "harm"? Will we apply our principles consistently as we consider cases involving different classes of people?

We're looking for strong involvement by you in this discussion, so please join us Thursday, April 30, at 7:00 PM Eastern time as we explore these fascinating issues.
