About us
Real friendships. Small groups. Actually showing up for each other.
Making friends as an adult is harder than anyone admits.
You move to a city, go to events, have great conversations — and then never see those people again. Most social options are either too big to actually connect with anyone, or too small and clique-y to break into. You end up going home to the same three contacts you've had for years.
Ripple is built for people who are done with that.
We are Raleigh's community for intentional connection — small groups, recurring events, and actually getting to know the people around you. Not a networking group. Not a party calendar. A real social circle.
***
What we do every month:
→ A group trip — kayaking, camping, beach days, and other adventures with a small crew that actually wants to be there
→ A members cookout — good food, good people, no agenda. Members bring guests, so there's always a fresh face or two
→ Thursday socials — Mini golf, arcade nights, bowling — activities where you can actually talk to the people next to you. The format keeps changing so it never gets old.
→ Your first Real Talk Dinner is on us when you join the club*
*Ripple is the organizer for Real Talk Dinners — a structured dinner for six strangers designed to go way beyond small talk. (realtalkdinners.com)

Who this is for
People who want to build a real social circle, not just fill their calendar. People who'd rather know ten people well than be surrounded by a hundred strangers. People who are done with surface-level socializing and actually want to feel at home somewhere.
We keep events intentionally small. You'll see the same faces regularly. That's not a bug — it's the whole point.

How to get involved
→ Come to Connection Lab first (free, open to everyone, no pitch) — it's our monthly social event where you can get a real feel for what Ripple is about before committing to anything
→ Ready to jump in? Visit ripplesocial.carrd.co to learn more and apply for membership.
Membership is $27/month. Founding rate — locked in for as long as you stay.

Come solo, or reserve 2 spots and bring a friend.
You must purchase your ticket at the link above. RSVP'ing on Meetup does not reserve your spot. Reservations close 48 hours before the event to allow time for us to match you with your tablemates.
Event is cross-posted and promoted outside of Meetup. RSVP's on Meetup do not accurately reflect the actual number of attendees. Each table is strictly capped at 6 people.
The Concept
Are you tired of answering "What do you do for work?" or talking about the weather? Most of us crave deeper, more authentic human interactions, but our daily routines rarely create the space for them.Welcome to Real Talk. We bring exactly 6 total strangers together at a single table for a highly structured, self-guided dinner conversation. There is no physical host lecturing the room, no microphones, and no awkward networking performance.
Instead, your table is completely guided by a physical Table Toolkit waiting for you at the restaurant.
How It Works:
- Intimate Group Seating: You will sit at a dedicated table arranged specifically to ensure the entire group can easily hear, face, and engage with one another without side-conversations splitting the room.
- The Single-Course Format: There is no requirement to buy multiple courses. Order a single main entrée and a drink, and our conversation rounds will naturally pace themselves around your meal's preparation, eating, and wrap-up times.
- The Privacy Compact: To ensure total safety, what is shared at the table stays entirely at the table.
- • The Autonomy Rule: You always hold the absolute right to pass on any prompt without explaining why. You control your boundaries.
- • Active Curiosity: The table operates under a strict protocol: we listen to understand, not just to reply. You'll be coached to ask thoughtful follow-up questions starting with "Why" or "How."
Skip the superficial networking apps. Come solo or bring a friend, share a great dinner, and leave with a completely renewed perspective on the people living right next to you in Durham.
⚠️ SEATS ARE STRICTLY CAPPED AT 6 PER TABLE. Secure your place at the table today!
