What we’re about
Rising Song Clearwater is a group for Jewish singers, as well as musicians who play Middle Eastern instruments and want to get together monthly as a Hadar Community Group. We usually meet the 4th Sunday of each month at 2pm at Congregation Beth Shalom. Our music selections come from Joey Weisenberg and our goal is to learn a set of songs from this playlist (the first 10 songs in chronological order):

Any level of player is welcome; singers must be able to carry a tune and harmonize. We use chord charts and audio to learn the songs, along with sheet music. The Hebrew is transliterated, so it is not necessary to be fluent in Hebrew.
The ultimate goal is to accept invitations to perform in the Pinellas County areas.
We are in need of an oud player, flute, Egyptian clarinet, as well as a mandolin. We also need Arabic percussion (Jewish), or any Middle Eastern instruments that you'd find in an orchestra. Debra Cohen is the group leader. Contact her for info.
