A Common Sense Tea | at the Thomas Paine Cottage
A Common Sense Tea @ 3:30PM ($ Ticket Purchase Required)
Step back in time for a charming afternoon of history, tea and Revolutionary spirit at the Thomas Paine Cottage in New Rochelle.
Learn about the life and legacy of Thomas Paine, an influential voice of independence, who once called this land home - as you sip teas featuring ingredients reflective of the locale. Enjoy a curated selection of sweets inspired by the period such as seed cake, cider cake and molasses-gingerbread cookies accompanied by a short history on Revolutionary era sweets. (The sweet component of this event I will be leading)
Following the tea service, the experience will conclude with a tour and overview of the early 19th century schoolhouse based on the property.
Limiting seating available, early registration is recommended.
