Rivertown Social brings together people who welcome getting out and doing things. The group presents a variety of experiences that touch on food, drink, culture and/or adventure. Geared to those in, around, or welcome being in the Rivertowns area (eg. Hastings, Dobbs Ferry, Irvington, Tarrytown and beyond).

Step into the charming world of the Regency Era and Jane Austen with a fun and interactive afternoon of parlor games. Inspired by the art of gossip - a favorite pastime of the period - Whisperton is a delightful way to spend an afternoon - whether joining on your own or with others.
2025 marks the 250th anniversary of Jane Austen's birthday and so a fitting time to celebrate all things Jane Austen!
Whisperton was previously held in February of this year at the Mead House (Dobbs Ferry Historical Society).

I will be leading the Whisperton program which will be a lighthearted escape into Regency charm. Whether an avid follower of all things Jane Austen, or simply intrigued to join in on an afternoon of amusements, the event is open to all.
Guests will learn about the history of gossip during the era followed by a number of interactive and engaging parlor games (while seated in the comfort of your chair). Note: You can an avid Jane Austen enthusiast, or enamored by the Regency era, or simply to spend a Friday late afternoon a little differently.
The afternoon will be accompanied by tea and a selection of historic inspired sweets and cakes, with each guest taking home a Regency era inspired gift.
Whisperton will take place at the Village of Tarrytown Rec Center, located by the waterfront park.

Step back in time for a charming afternoon of history, tea and Revolutionary spirit at the Thomas Paine Cottage in New Rochelle.Learn about the life and legacy of Thomas Paine, an influential voice of independence, who once called this land home - as you sip teas featuring ingredients reflective of the locale. Enjoy a curated selection of sweets inspired by the period such as seed cake, cider cake and molasses-gingerbread cookies accompanied by a short history on Revolutionary era sweets. (The sweet component of this event I will be leading)
Following the tea service, the experience will conclude with a tour and overview of the early 19th century schoolhouse based on the property.
Limiting seating available, early registration is recommended.
