Sheep and Hike - Transhumance St Etienne de Tinée

Details
Spring time is calling for bit seasonal hike this time: going to St Etienne de Tinée for the sheep festival plus a smaller hike.
The "transhumance" is the seasonal movement of the animals to the summer pastures, accompanied by plenty of animation in the village. The whole event is quite a fun experience and a showcase of the traditions of the mountains.
Info for the festival: https://ete.auron.com/evenements/transhumance/
Plenty of food and especially the local cheeses are available. It is a great way to meet new people, experience the mountain culture and enjoy the colorful flowers on a hike.
The hike itself will be rather short going to Cime de la Pinatella. For the way down you can choose if you want to take the cable car or hike down. On the Pinatella there is a hut where you can also buy food or drinks.
Pace: relaxed social hiking
Start-time: 10h00/11h00 - spending an hour in the village first
Duration: about 4h00 plus time for lunch
Meeting point: in front of the town hall/tourist office
The usual: proper shoes, water, a rain coat, wind breaker, warm pullover and something to eat for your lunch. Plus sun glasses and sun screen.
