RIVR Space Tours - November - New England Institute of Technology

Details
This is the candy store meet up for VR/AR in the area. New England Institute of Technology's Game Lab has it all. Besides headsets of all varieties, the game lab includes a Virtuix Omni treadmill and a 16 Camera Optitrack Motion Capture System! Fuuuuun. Join Us! Remember to bring your projects and portfolios.
New England Institute of Technology (NEIT) is using Virtual and Augmented Reality in a number of departments. On November 6, we'll be visiting the game lab in the Game Development and Simulation Programming Department. Besides 2D games, the curriculum includes the opportunity to learn, design and code Virtual Reality games. The game lab makes the latest technology available for students to make and test their own games on.
Rhode Island Virtual Reality's event line-up is bringing you to where VR/MR/AR experiences get made. From holograms and simulations to 360 film and motion capture studios, our season will help us better understand our lines of inquiry and interest, our capabilities and resources, get help on our projects and evaluate gaps and how to work better collectively. We've been to company and membership-driven maker spaces. NEIT is just one of many area schools teaching and using VR/AR. It is the ONLY area school with the game and simulation focus.
Our format will change slightly, so we can all grab a bite to eat.

About the New England Institute of Technology
To support its students in the Video Game Development and Design Department, the New England Institute of Technology launched the NEIT Game Lab in October 2017. The NEIT Game Lab is a dedicated space where students can work on the Game Design and Simulation Projects outside of class throughout the week. The Lab features 18 state of the art workstations, 4 24” Wacom Cintiq displays, a 16 Camera Optitrack Motion Capture System, a Virtuix Omni treadmill, a variety of VR Equipment, Mobile Development Hardware, a Form 2 3D printer, and a Vintage Game Console library that dates back to the 1960’s.
We are excited about this special opportunity to tour and work in the New England Institute of Technology's Game Lab!
