What we’re about
Riyadh English Book Club
The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go - Dr Seuss.
A casual and informal book club in Riyadh for people who want to read and talk about books in English.
We’ll be picking books from a range of genres (fiction, non-fiction, sci-fi, memoir, classics, etc.), switching it up each time to keep things interesting. Discussions will be informal — no pressure to say something profound, or indeed anything at all (but profundity and insight will be always welcome).
Meet ups will be monthly, at a cafe (tbc) on a Saturday, and the book for each meetup will be chosen the previous month.
The main idea is to read more, meet new people, and stimulate interesting conversations. Open to anyone in Riyadh who wants to join.

# 📚 Riyadh English Book Club — Meetup #4
Hi all! This is the fourth meetup of the Riyadh English Book Club. Absolutely anyone is welcome, but please read the description fully ☺️

## 📖 Current Read: Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka
A cornerstone of 20th-century literature, Metamorphosis has captivated readers for over a century with its surreal and distinctly 'kafkaesque' story of a travelling salesman who wakes up one morning to find he’s been transformed into a bug. The novella explores alienation, identity, what it means to be human, and the absurdity of modern life. It's also very short (around 70 pages, and just a few hours via audiobook).

## 💬 What to Expect
This is not a super structured event, but generally we’ll chat about:
- the book — parts of the story/ideas/characters/writing that we found interesting, meaningful, funny, thought-provoking etc. Also, aspects of the book that maybe we didn't like!
- books, literature, and reading in general.
Feel free to bring:
- specific passages you liked
- questions or discussion prompts
