什么是网络分析？
网络分析用于描述不同人物之间的关系，网络能表达我们的日常生活的各种情况，例如微博上朋友之间的关系、飞机穿梭城市之间的飞航路线、线上约会上的短信互动等等。学者能利用网络分析可视化研究数据，而专业人士能使用网络分析了解公司里的商业流程和互动。

What is network analysis and why is it important?
Network analysis is a technique used to depict relationships between actors. Networks can represent much of our daily lives, like relationships of friends on Weibo, airplane flights between global cities, or messages exchanged across online dating profiles. Network analysis can be used by academics to visualize research data, or by professionals to better understand the flows and interactions in their firm.

柯玫瑰（Hannah Rose Kirk）是北京大学的研究生和燕京学者。她于2018年毕业于劍橋大學三一學院，获得经济学学士学位。在中国， Hannah在Berggruen Institute担任研究员，致力于解决21世纪的“人类转型”问题。Hannah的研究集中在计算社会科学上，将机器学习技术应用于经验数据，还通过她在数字治理，岩土工程技术稳定性和中国的AI战略方面的工作，对这些技术进行治理。Hannah将于9月在牛津大学开始其数据科学博士学位。

Who is the speaker?
Hannah Rose Kirk is a graduate student and Yenching Scholar at Peking University. She graduated from Trinity College, University of Cambridge in 2018 with a double first in Economics (B.A). In China, Hannah worked as a researcher at The Berggruen Institute China Center working on their “Transformation of the Human” as a 21st century problem. Hannah’s research concentrates on computational social science, in the application of machine learning techniques to empirical data, but also in the governance of these technologies through her work on digital governance, geo-technical stability, and China’s AI strategy. Hannah will be starting a PhD in Data Science at the University of Oxford in September.
