R Ladies Boulder Meetup #11: Unsupervised clustering methods in R
Details
Hi Boulder UseRs! Join us for this month's Virtual R Ladies Meetup and join our new local Slack workspace (https://forms.gle/j36YGxuNwN6zZ8nW7)!
This month, Dr. Marta Jankowska will be showing us the ropes of some common machine learning algorithms in R. She will focus on unsupervised clustering methods.
Clustering methods are a set of unsupervised learning techniques to identify subgroups within a larger population. These methods are broadly useful as a first step for exploring high dimensional datasets. Two of the most popular methods are K-means and Hierarchical clustering. She will review the theory behind the methods, and work through two example applications in R.
We will be meeting over Zoom (Meeting link visible when you RSVP). Join us to connect with other R users in the Boulder area and learn some new techniques to apply in your work!
We hope you'll also join our local Slack workspace to keep the R help and conversation flowing! To get access to the Slack workspace, please fill out this short Google form: https://forms.gle/j36YGxuNwN6zZ8nW7.
