Virtual presentations - Spatial data analysis with R
Details
- What are we going to learn?
In this session I will talk about how I use R as a GIS for spatial data analysis. Reka will focus on data about crime, policing, and people's perceptions of place, her main areas of research. She will cover descriptive analysis, making thematic and point maps, and some spatial statistics. I'll be making use of packages such as sf, tmap, leaflet, spatstat and probably some more...! - Who is going to present?
We have a special international guest!
Dr Reka Solymosi who is a Lecturer in Quantitative Methods at the University of Manchester at the Department of Criminology.
She is a member of the Software Sustainability Institute and an Honorary Lecturer at University College London. Her research focuses on making use of new forms of data to gain insight into people's behaviour and subjective experiences, particularly focusing on crime, victimisation, transport, and spatial research. She is also dedicated to promoting data literacy in social science study and practice.
For more info look at her beautiful R website https://rekadata.net/ - When are we meeting?
