In light of the ongoing #DuboisChallenge2024, we'll demonstrate how to replicate one of the original plates from W.E.B. Du Bois's legacy at the 1900 Paris Exposition using modern tools such as R.
We'll explore the colours used in the plates and delve into the intricacies of the challenge by understanding the perspective of hand-made graphs in the "Duboisian" style.
This session can be hands-on or just to watch-learn, depending on your preference. If you’d like to participate, please make sure your R interface (RStudio, VScode, Posit Cloud) is ready with the latest version installed. Also, a quick look at the #DuboisChallenge2024 GitHub repo for some extra hints would be helpful: https://github.com/ajstarks/dubois-data-portraits/tree/master/challenge/2024
