Are you an R and/or Python user interested in learning about the Positron IDE? Join the R-Ladies Corvallis community for a workshop led by Posit's very own Charlotte Wickham! You do not need to have any experience with Positron to attend.
We'll have snacks and time set aside for mingling and asking questions. We hope you join us!

Workshop details

Positron is the new IDE from Posit — the team behind RStudio. If you've been curious but haven't had the time to try it yet, this workshop is for you. In one hour, we'll get you up and running, with plenty of time to explore and get your questions answered.

I (Charlotte) will have a few slides prepared with:

  • the most important things to know when you are a new Positron user,
  • tips for transitioning from RStudio, and
  • Positron features I think make the transition worth it.

I'll try to limit how much time I'm talking to give you as much time as possible to actually use Positron and ask questions about it.

Before the workshop

  1. Check your R version: Positron requires R 4.2 or greater. To check: open R, and examine the welcome message or run `R.version$version.string`. To update: visit https://cloud.r-project.org
  2. Install Positron: https://positron.posit.co/install.html
