SPEAKER
This online workshop will be led by Dr Bodo Winter (https://bodowinter.com/)(@BodoWinter). Bodo is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Birmingham, UK, and the author of the leading R book "Statistics for Linguists: An Introduction Using R". (I Highly recommend getting one🤩.). We are thrilled to have Bodo again!!🥳🥳👏👏

WORKSHOP OVERVIEW
For this workshop session, Bodo intends to walk people through the core insights of the generalized linear model (GLM) framework, with an emphasis on Poisson regression and logistic regression, two approaches that are incredibly useful when analyzing discrete data. We will work on two examples of experiments involving co-speech gestures and fit both types of GLMs.

PREPARATION
Knitted markdowns will be provided, but attendees who want to run the models themselves should install the packages “tidyverse,” “brms” and “tidybayes” packages. Unfortunately, brms installation can sometimes be tricky. Please attend even if you don’t get it running, as you’ll still be able to benefit!

ONLINE PROGRAMME
The workshop will be held online, starting on 11th May at 16:00 (UK time). Please join us via this Zoom link:
