Level up your plots, with Cara Thompson

Details
Join us for a fun workshop that will help you take your plots to the next level
If you've used ggplot2 a few times, but you're looking to spice up your graphs with more advanced features, then this workshop is for you. Here is what we're planning to do:
- Explore how to be less dependent on annotations by using intuitive colour palettes
- Illustrate ways in which we can use text colour and fonts to add text hierarchy
- Add in story-enhancing annotations and data highlights to draw attention to the key data patterns
- Package up bits of reusable R code
- Introduce you to {ggtext}, {geomtextpath} and {gghighlight}
You'll make the most of the workshop if you come prepared with a plot that you have created before but aren't entirely happy with. During the workshop, you'll be given time to apply the learnings to your own plot(s).
**Please bring a laptop and the code for your less-than-perfect plot so you can fully participate in the workshop.**
After the workshop, we will have ample time for networking and chat over some snacks and drinks (courtesy of the Software Sustainability Institute).
