March meeting: Shiny apps
Details
Always wondered how to make interactive apps in R?
Mel Moreno will be presenting on how to create Shiny apps: she will take you through the basics, show how to create linear and multi-functional models, and eventually maps.
These are some of the Shiny apps Mel has made:
https://oysterprojectck.shinyapps.io/landing/ (landings for oyster project)
https://oysterprojectck.shinyapps.io/river_quantile/ (river discharge for oyster project)
This is the first time we're trying to do our R-Ladies meeting online: we will use Zoom. If you've never used Zoom before, you will be prompted to download something. You will be muted automatically upon entering the meeting - so unmute if you'd like to communicate with us/each other. Depending on how many people join, we might have to turn off webcams at some point. But we'd love to see your faces, so rather not :) Don't worry about pets and family members in frame, we'd love to see them too. Just make sure everyone is wearing pants (the family members, not the pets).
Also - we've heard some rumors of Zoom meetings being spammed with people screen sharing with unwanted information, so we will try to avoid that.
