An Introduction to UI/UX in Shiny

Details

This session will take you through important concepts in web development related to the design of user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) and how to apply them in Shiny. Shiny is an R framework for building web applications, and all web apps have some form of "front end" — whatever the user interacts with. Guided by principles from the broader UI/UX field, this session will explore how we can implement best practices when designing the front end of Shiny apps. I will try to cover both smaller, basic ways you can quickly change an app as well as more complex customisations using external packages or even modifying the underlying web technologies (HTML/CSS) directly. If you've never used Shiny, I recommend at least attempting to build a simple app before attending. There are a lot of useful tutorials for beginners available here: [https://shiny.rstudio.com/tutorial](https://t.co/uDAkTxeVBi).
