Intro to Geospatial Tools in R

Curious about working with spatial data in R? Whether you're just starting out or looking to sharpen your skills and learn about new tools* this R Ladies meetup is for you!

*There have been some new packages introduced to work with spatial data in R (sf, terra) in the past few years, and older packages have been phased out (rgdal, raster). This meetup will focus on the new packages, with some helpful comparisons for those who may have learned using the older tools.

We will cover:

• An introduction to popular R packages for spatial analysis (like sf, raster, terra, and mapview)
• Tools for static and interactive spatial data visualization in R (tmap, leaflet)
• Live-coding demonstrations of mapping, data wrangling, and spatial visualization
• How R fits into the larger GIS Tools and spatial data visualization ecosystem

Please bring your laptop with R and R studio installed.
