It feels like machine learning and AI are all we hear about these days - ever wonder how you can leverage these methods in your work in R? If YES this event is for you! Weʻll be hosting guest speaker Nathan Fitzpatrick, a PhD Candidate at UH Mānoa currently applying machine learning methods to marine ecological research. We’ll start with a basic overview of ML concepts and theory, and then run through a code-along example to get to know the available packages for building ML models in R.

This event is open to all levels of R Practitioners.

A Github repository with the code notebooks can be found and cloned here: https://github.com/madelinemberger/rladies-Intro-to-ML

If possible, please have the following packages installed for the code-along example:

  • mlr3
  • mlr3learners
  • ggplot2
  • data.table
  • mlr3pipelines
  • mlr3viz
  • mlr3tuning

Please RSVP to receive the event link.

Can’t wait to see you there!
