Mastering R6! Advanced R, Chapter 14, R-Ladies NL Book Club

Details
Welcome!!
The R Ladies chapters of the Netherlands are partnering up and are hosting an online book club. As a first book, we chose to read and discuss Hadley Wickham's Advanced R book (https://adv-r.hadley.nz/).
Join us for our next meeting, in which Johanna Muñoz
will present the key points of Chapter 14: "R6".
After that, we'll try some exercises together and help each other clear up any doubts and get over any hurdles :)
You can find the full schedule and more information here: https://github.com/rladiesnl/book_club
And sign up to discuss one of the chapters at https://bit.ly/2QBYGEG!
ABOUT Johanna
Johanna is a researcher with a diverse background. She loves statistics, and although she considers she is far away from being a programming wizard, she survives using R as her weapon of choice.
ABOUT the chapter
R6 is an implemention of encapsulated object-oriented programming for R, and is a simpler, faster, lighter-weight alternative to R’s built-in reference classes. This style of programming is also sometimes referred to as classical object-oriented programming.
Some features of R6 from https://r6.r-lib.org/:
- R6 objects have reference semantics.
- R6 cleanly supports inheritance across packages.
- R6 classes have public and private members.
REQUIREMENTS
Make sure to read the chapter in advance!
