By the end of the second of this two part series (first part was on June 14, 2022), participants will be able to explain different types of spatial operations using the sf package in R and apply sf and tidyverse operations to wrangle and map real-world spatial data. We will assume that attendees are already familiar with the information covered in the part 1 on June 14, 2022).

All events are intended for women as leaders, mentors, members, and attendees. We are emphatically queer and trans friendly. Men are welcomed to attend as guests and must be accompanied by the R-Lady who invited them (i.e., attend through the "guest" function on their host's RSVP, not as a separate RSVP). This group was created so those who identify as women have a comfortable place to learn. If you would like to attend and feel excluded, please contact the event organizer.

Agenda:
• 6:30pm - 6:45pm - Introductions
• 6:45pm - 7:50pm - Hands-on Workshop
• 7:50pm - 8:00pm - Wrap up

Who is this for?
This meetup is for beginners who have no experience programming in R (or another coding language); however, we will assume that attendees are already familiar with the information covered in the part 1 on June 14, 2022). We will use live coding demonstrations and participates will actively engage with the instructor throughout the workshop.

We will be using web browser-based interactive coding notebooks for this workshop so no installation of R or RStudio is required. These notebooks will ensure that everyone's code runs properly as there can be many tricky software dependency issues that pop up while doing spatial analysis work. Links to the coding notebooks will be provided at the start of the workshop. Folks are welcome to work without their web-browers, if they feel comfortable to do this independently.

Please contact Sheila at sheila@rladies.org at least 48 hours (or earlier) before the event if you have any questions.
