[ONLINE] Debugging in R with Shannon Pileggi

Please join us for our next meetup with Shannon Pileggi member of R-Ladies Philly on Debugging in R!

Topic: In this workshop, we will review code troubleshooting tips, discuss debugging functions (traceback(), browser(), debug(), trace(), and recover()), and distinguish between strategies for debugging your own code versus someone else’s code.

Format: This will be a hands-on workshop in Posit (RStudio) Cloud. This is a special instance of RStudio that you access through your browser. We will share details on how to log in to Posit Cloud to registered participants closer to the event.

Agenda: We will open the Zoom room to mingle and make sure everyone has access to Posit Cloud. The workshop will start at 15 minutes past the advertised start time. We expect this workshop to end at 8pm ET.

Pre-requisites: Knowledge of how to write a function in R.

Learning objectives:

• Review code troubleshooting tips.
• Discuss debugging functions (traceback(), browser(), debug(), trace(), and recover()) and the additional benefits of employing some of these strategies within RStudio.
• Distinguish between strategies for debugging your own code versus someone else’s code.
