Details

Come join your fellow R users from R-Ladies RTP and R-Ladies Gaborone in a joint virtual meet up.

Does the release of a new R version fill you with dread? Are there passwords in your R code? Do you look at the output of a failed package installation and think to yourself, “WTF?!” If you said yes to any of those question, then you need Personal R Administration. You'll come away with tips, tricks, tweaks, and some hacks for building data science R development environments that you won't be afraid to come back to in a year.

This is a half-day long hands-on event based on the "What They Forgot To Teach You About R" workshop that Shannon and David co-teach every year at posit::conf. For more on that workshop, visit: https://rstats.wtf/.

Who is this for?
New and experienced R users alike! Let's learn together! All are welcome, including R-Ladies RTP members and R-Ladies from around the world. This meetup is organized in collaboration with R-Ladies Gaborone.

What should I bring?
You'll need a computer with videoconferencing capabilities, R, and RStudio. If you have difficulties installing R and/or RStudio, please reach out to the organize at least 24 hours before the event.

Where will it take place?
Please join us online via Zoom. A link to join will be provided when you RSVP.

All events are intended for minoritized genders as leaders, mentors, members, and attendees. We are emphatically queer and trans friendly. Men are welcomed to attend as guests and must be accompanied by the member who invited them. This group was created so that women, non-binary, gender non-conforming, and minoritized folks have a comfortable place to learn. If you would like to attend and feel excluded, please introduce yourself to an organizer.
