For our September meeting Katie Heineman will give us an introductory walk through of Shiny apps:

Shiny is a web development platform developed through R Studio that allows R users to make interactive interfaces for datasets manipulation and visualization. For the tutorial, I will walk the group through the creation of a simple shiny app using the R ladies dataset, and then demo several shiny apps I have created through my work in plant ecology.

Before coming please do the following:

  1. Install R Studio ( https://www.rstudio.com/ ).
  2. Install the 'shiny' package
  3. Optional: Sign up for a free Shiny.io account so you can practice deploying a shareable webapp: http://www.shinyapps.io/

All scripts can be found on our GitHub account (https://github.com/rladies-san-diego/2017-09-20_shiny).

Come for R, Shiny, and snacks!
