Code Reviews! Learn how to review code & submit code for review
Details
How do you review code from a data science project? Often, the goal of code review is to ensure that new code is free of bugs, efficient, well-documented, and maintainable. Code review is also an excellent opportunity to learn from others and get feedback on your work. However, practices vary widely from academia to industry and standards are mostly non-existent.
At this event, we will hear from R-Ladies members about best practices for code review, how code review is conducted in their workplace, and then we'll practice code review in small groups.
Speakers:
Lauren Wolfe, Research Data Specialist at Fred Hutch
Carrie Bennette, Principal Quantitative Scientist at Flatiron
We are looking for R-Ladies members to share code that they'd like feedback on for the group exercise. Please comment in the event discussion thread if you have code you'd like to bring to the meeting.
Pizza & refreshments will be provided by Fred Hutch.
Please feel free to bring children if childcare is unavailable.
