Getting Started with R
Details
Join us as we welcome David Keyes for our first of four octobeR workshops!
Workshop Description:
Some users struggle to figure out the nuts and bolts of getting started: what do you need to download (wait, there’s R and RStudio?), where do you enter code, etc. Others become overwhelmed, in a classic example of the paradox of choice, with all of the resources available online for learning R. How do you know which approach to using R (and there are many!) is best? In this workshop, you’ll learn what you need to get up and running with R, including getting R and RStudio set up, working with projects, installing and loading packages, importing and examining data, and more.
About David:
David Keyes is the CEO of R for the Rest of Us. Through online courses and custom trainings, he helps people and organizations learn R, the most powerful tool for data analysis and visualization (which also happens to be free).
In addition to training folks to use R, David does consulting work with research and evaluation organizations, foundations, and others. David's creates high-quality data visualization, helps organizations to use R to improve their workflow, and much more.
One of the main obstacles that many new R users face is simply getting started.
