Kelly is a Bioinformatics Software Engineer for Frederick National Laboratories in the United States. She completed her PhD in Bioinformatics in Dr. Pat Schloss’ lab at the University of Michigan, where she developed bioinformatics tools and data analysis pipelines for microbial ecology and host-associated microbiome research. She is a fan of open science, open source software, and reproducible research with a strong background in programming education.
