We are delighted to invite you to our next meetup. We will be organizing a new workshop about Using blogdown & Hugo Apéro to create your personal website.

▶️ Invited trainer: Dr. Alison Hill

▶️ About Dr. Alison Hill :
Alison Hill is a data scientist, behavioral scientist, and an award-winning educator. Currently, Dr. Hill works to make data science communication easier and more delightful using RStudio’s open-source toolchain. Previously, Alison was an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Oregon Health & Science University. Her research focused on health-related applications of Natural Language Processing-based methods, and was funded by the National Institutes of Health, the Oregon Clinical and Translational Research Institute, and Autism Speaks. She has written numerous scientific publications on autism and neurodevelopmental disorders and has presented research at over 25 international conferences. Alison has also taught statistics and data science for over 10 years; most recently, she has led advanced workshops on data science communication and machine learning at rstudio::conf, R / Medicine, and R in Pharma. She is also an international keynote speaker (https://alison.rbind.io/talks), co-developer of the palmerpenguins (https://allisonhorst.github.io/palmerpenguins/), distill (https://rstudio.github.io/distill/), and blogdown (https://pkgs.rstudio.com/blogdown) R packages, and co-author of the book blogdown: Creating Websites with R Markdown (https://bookdown.org/yihui/blogdown/).

▶️ About the workshop:
“You should have a website!” You may have heard this one before, or even said it yourself. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to build and customize a website from the comfort of the RStudio IDE with R Markdown. We'll use the blogdown package and the Hugo Apéro theme to build and deploy a personal website. We’ll cover basic website care and feeding like using R Markdown to create content, how to use GitHub for version control and Netlify for publishing, and how to use the latest upgrades to the blogdown R package to keep your site up and running.
