Managing R projects with Maëlle Salmon

Details

After a long summer break we are happy to announce the November 2021 Meetup with Maëlle Salmon (https://masalmon.eu) who will give us a presentation on best practices to organize an R project and why R projects are important.

Here is Maëlle's abstract for the talk:
"A good R project organization is useful even if you do not have
collaborators as demanding as The Little Prince. how to do that? Do you put the project in some sort of box? In this talk I will present tools that are good to know: git, here, renv, targets, orderly… I’ll also report whether making an R package out of everything is always a good idea. After this presentation you will have learnt tips and tricks to apply as you like in your R projects. I hope every one of you will learn at least one new thing!"

Maëlle is a part-time research software engineer for rOpenSci (since February 2018) and an active R developer and trainer. She also serve as associate editor for rOpenSci’s Software Peer Review (peer-review system of R packages) and is the main manager of R-Ladies Global Twitter account.

!!! Please note the change of time from evening to lunch time.

We are so happy to have her contribute to our Meetup!
