Workshop - Introduction to R (Part 2)

We're back with Part 2 of our Introduction to R workshop series. While this workshop builds on the previous one, new participants are also welcome to join us! We will provide the materials from Part 1 for you to catch up.

We welcome all genders and identities to attend our events at R-Ladies Vienna.

ℹ️ Abstract
R is a powerful programming language and environment widely used across fields from statistics and economics to psychology, biology, and more. It provides a versatile analytical toolkit for anyone working with data.

The goal of this workshop series is for our attendees to become acquainted with R to start their data analytics journey. In this follow-up session, we will focus on:

• Data processing with the dplyr package
• Data visualization with the ggplot2 package
• Loops, functions, and conditional statements

📊 Bring your own data!
If you have a dataset you would like to analyze and visualize during the workshop, we encourage you to bring it along and apply the techniques to your data of interest.

💡 What to prepare

• Before the workshop, install R and RStudio on your laptop by following the 2-step guide at https://posit.co/download/rstudio-desktop/
• On the workshop day, bring your laptop to follow the workshop material closely and code along with us!
• (Optional) Bring a dataset you would like to work with
• (Optional) If you're new to the series, we will send you the link to the Part 1 materials upon registration. Take your time to review the topics we covered in Part 1.
  (Basic data types and structures, reading data into R and exporting from R, basic data processing and visualization with base R)

The workshop will last approximately 1.5 hours. Doors open at 17:45.
