What is your hiking experience? (e.g. how long have you been hiking, how often do you get out , where are some of your favorite places, etc.)

I've been hiking since around 2009, when I was living in Colorado. I moved to NE in 2011 and started "peak bagging" in 2012. Since then, I completed my NH 48 in June 2015 and the Vt 4ks in July 2015. I've also hiked Katahdin's knives edge in Sept 2014. I've also done 3 CO 14ers.

What type of hikes do you like best? (e.g. day hikes, overnight backpacks, hikes that may involve off-trail "bushwhacking", etc.)

Mostly day hikes. I have done some backpacking but I prefer to car camp before and after a hike.

What are your hiking goals? (e.g. just like hiking, enjoy being outdoors, looking to finish one of the "lists", etc.)

I've completed my NH 48 but would love to eventually complete the NE67 and Winter 48. I really like to just get out in the mountains as much as I can.

What is the most strenuous/difficult hike that you have done? What made it so tough?

Katahdin's Knives Edge and the Carters in freezing and icy conditions.

Do you have any outdoor leadership experience? Would you be interested in organizing and leading your own events with the Random Hikers??

I'm more of a follower, especially with my poor sense of direction. haha.

Introduction

Hey, I'm Jen. I'm an avid hiker who also enjoys camping, running, snow-shoeing and cycling. I finished my NH 48 in June 2015 but plan to keep on hiking and exploring in the mountains of NE and beyond.

What Jennifer E. is saying about this Meetup Group

Great group of people. I enjoy their hikes and each leader (or group of leaders) are well informed and knowledgeable and also fun. I look forward to many more years hiking with Random.
