Sunshine on the Tracks - A Rail Trail Adventure
Details
Let's spend a beautiful afternoon on the trails together riding rail bikes!
Rail bikes are exactly what they sound like — pedal-powered carts that ride directly on the old Northern Central Railroad tracks. Ours is a seven-mile round trip through farmland, past colonial stone houses, over river bridges, and into Howard Tunnel, built in 1838 and the second-oldest railroad tunnel in the country. It's the tunnel that carried Lincoln's coffin home in 1865.
The track is completely flat, so there's no hill-climbing involved. Just a slow, easy ride with good company and better scenery. There's a fifteen-minute break at the halfway point for photos .
Bring water, a snack, sunscreen, and shoes you can pedal in.
Roughly an hour and a half to two hours on the rails. Its a very easy ride that anyone can do! Afterwards, we will grab a bit to eat together!
Price is per Bike not per person so I will be collecting the money via Venmo and reserving the bikes.. $48 per person. Bikes will be assigned to make sure we have full groups!
If we get enough to do a group rate, refunds will be issued that will make it a total of $38 per person.
