We are thrilled to announce an exhilarating kayak and camping adventure at the picturesque Lake Moomaw in the heart of George Washington National Forest. Gear up for a weekend filled with paddling, camping under the stars, fishing, hiking, and biking amidst stunning natural surroundings. Saturday we will all be on the water together. Sunday will be an optional day for you to have choices. That said, for friends and family who are not water seekers but want to join us, YES, please let them join in the other beautiful opportunities this majestic place offers. Animals are welcome with this event.

Itinerary:

• Saturday: 9:30 am: Arrive at Lake Moomaw, get settled and let’s have a great weekend!
• 11:00 am: Hit the water for an unforgettable paddling experience.
• 6:30 pm: Group dinner (potluck style)
• Saturday Sunset: Optional sunset paddle for those seeking a magical twilight adventure.
• Sunday: Weather permitting, start the day with a breathtaking sunrise paddle.
• Throughout the Day: Flexibility for continued paddling, hiking, biking, or simply soaking in the serene surroundings.

Accommodations:

• Each participant is responsible for making their camping reservations at the park. We will soon share the link to where we will bring the whole group of us. I am not opposed to getting a group site but need to see a headcount and financial participation prior. Will make a decision for a group by May 1st.
• Car Camping, Tents, Campers are welcome!

• Everyone over 18! Whether you're a seasoned paddler, camping enthusiast, angler, hiker or biker, this event is open to all who seek outdoor fun and camaraderie. So invite your family and friends even if they are not water lovers to have some fun with us.

• Respect the rules of RKSC (Roanoke Kayaking Social Club) on the water and at our event..
• Personal safety is paramount; participants must have their own equipment and kayak or rent nearby.
• Organizers are experienced enthusiasts, not professionals; each participant is responsible for their safety.
